Post-humane music full of wordless vocals

With her impressive, almost hypnotising performance the Catalan Marina Herlop recently managed to blow the roof off the Rewire 2022 festival. This classically trained composer, singer and pianoplayer creates vibrant, post-humane music imagining a world reclaimed by nature.

Her vocals, inspired by Southern Indian music, is packed with acrobatic vocal sounds reminiscent of the sounds of early civilisations. These remarkable percussion-like vocal sounds are merged with avant-garde classical music and experimental electronics into intense melodies, harbouring a wide range of influences. Thus a harmonic layered kind of music emerges, which – on top of it all – is definitely given an extraordinary dimension through her live performance with her band.
