The eternally frozen bat

Percussionist and composer Andrea Belfi is well-known for his pioneering compositions and collaborations with among others, Nils Frahm, Jóhann Jóhannsson and Circuit des Yeux. For Explore the North he presents his Eternally Frozen project supported by Hilary Jeffery on trombone and electronics. During a visit to a LA museum Belfi became inspired by the story about a mythological bat called Deprong Mori. This species, conceived by the researcher Donald R. Griffith, has the alleged ability to fly through solid matter, due to its natural echolocation skills. The myth suggests that one of these bats was left ‘eternally frozen’ in a wall of solid led in 1952. Get ready for a musical, perhaps even never-ending journey.
