Coby Sey

Coby Sey is a London based producer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and DJ, who – after years of performing in the London DIY-circuit – has emerged as a distinctive presence with a completely own style, prompting The Guardian – for good reason too – to dub him as the ‘one to watch’. Sey is well-known for his varying, disorientating vision on club music and his collaborations with among others Kae Tempest, Tirzah and Mica Levi. His albums span the realms of live instrumentation, sample-based productions and experimental music, melding recognisable motifs of, amongst others, hip hop, drone, jazz and grime into his own distinctive style. On stage, his dreamy compositions are imbued with a heavy, disruptive dance-floor energy, and are fleshed out with live instrumentation by his band of close South London collaborators.
