Tue 4 October | 20:00 - 22:00
The Moanne presents: The Gap

Check out the latest Frisian fiction talents in the greenhouse! After six Frisian talents climbed onto the paper stages of the Leeuwarder Courant and the Moanne, you can now see and hear them live in De Stadskas. In their short stories, lyrics and poems they explore the The Gap theme. Gaping gaps, between well, actually everything: me and the other, here and there, reality and desire, then and now, life and death. This evening they will recite part of their published work. With among other the talented writer Nicole van den Berg and illustrator Sietske Harkema.

Language: Frisian and Dutch

Wed 5 October | 20:00 - 22:00
Borrow a Frisian

Borrow a Frisian goes Stadskas. Every Frisian has a tale to tell. A story about a quest for identity, motives behind activism or keeping the Friesian waters clean. At the Borrow a Frisian platform (leeneenfries.nl) twenty Frisians share their openhearted story via podcasts, portraits, interviews and events. In this engaging Stadskas programme you’ll get to know some of them better.

Language: Frisian and Dutch

Thur 6 October | 20:00 - 23:00
Explore the Playground IV

Explore the Playground is the leading platform for young Explore the North makers. Every edition we invite a young maker to create together with the Playground team a full-length evening programme packed with young talent.
This fourth edition this will be the videographer and photographer Lariza Zaldy. During this evening his work is displayed, while performances are given by Quinny, LEMU and Louis Pedro.

Fri 7 October | 20:00 - 00:00
Zuperstition

After their successful club-nights at WORM Rotterdam, they have for some time now been slowly but surely conquering the Dutch night. And now – returning to the city where it all began – they are coming to our very own De Stadskas in Leeuwarden: the DJs of the creative queer collective Zuperstition. Get ready for an unforgettable, steaming dance trip. A trip along old school Chicago (the birthplace of house) and ballroom beats to ultimately some real raw Detroit techno.

Sat 8 October | 12:00 - 00:00
THE GREENHOUSE CLUB

THE DAY CLUB will transform De Stadskas into a HANDCRAFT CLUB for the young and old. Enter a build-the-best-rocket-with-paper-and-tape competition and win the most amazing prizes! After we’re done tinkering around, we take off – like a rocket! – to THE DAY CLUB DJ team’s dance floor.

Sun 9 October | 20:00 - 23:00
Explore the Playground special edition

After four previous editions of Explore the Playground – the leading platform for young makers – we thought it was about time for a special one. In the past we have invited Teodóra Róka, Blondeau and Zuen Records to curate a Playground edition, which was quite a success! This time they will collaborate once again for this special edition of Explore the Playground. Be prepared for an evening bursting with all kinds of music styles, visual arts, video and much much more!

Mon 10 October | 20:00 - 23:00
Crappy Bingo [bingo card € 1]

Bingo is good old-fashioned fun of course! A lot of singing due to false bingos, waiting on the edge of your seat for ball number 69 to be called and at the end of the evening going home with a couple of nice prizes. Yeah, only Crappy Bingo obviously works a little different.
Take the ugliest thing you own along to De Stadskas and Crappy Bingo will make sure somebody else will be its new unlucky owner. With a drink within arm’s reach and a bingo card for just one euro, what can possibly go wrong?

Tue 11 October | 20:00 - 23:00
The Clubhouse in the Greenhouse

The Clubhouse (of the Welcome to the Village festival) is a sanctuary for music, art, a city garden, work spaces, skating and more. Located normally at the Zwettestraat (an industrial area in the city of Leeuwarden), it offers a programme full of parties, workshops and exhibitions. Yet especially for us, The Clubhouse has tonight been relocated to our festival heart at the Hofplein. Featuring – you guessed it – the absolute coolest music of our programme!

Wed 12 October | 20:00 - 23:00
Dichter bij Leeuwarden (Poet near Leeuwarden): Unasked

We challenge the word artists of Poets near Leeuwarden to question science! However, don’t bet on getting any answers tonight. What’s more: you’ll probably leave with more questions than you came in with. And that’s exactly the whole idea behind this show! Come marvel at intergalactic purple zebra-cats (and much more) during an absurd poetic evening.
