MASS FOR THE METAMODERN HUMAN BEING
Woe Blind Birds from Leeuwarden plays an eclectic mix of guitars, drums, synths and striking vocals. Think Radiohead, but also Sigur Rós, The Flaming Lips and Bon Iver too. Especially for Explore the North, the band from Leeuwarden will be performing Φ (‘phi’): a transcendental mass in the Lutherse Kerk. The mass was created by the band together with Groningen author and philosophy alumnus Harm ten Napel, who will speak about secularisation and religious longing. Accompanied by poetry, grating music and an imposing light show, the church will be transformed into a commune for the metamodern human being.
