Paradise in stories

During the Arcadia 2022 cultural programme, Leeuwarden UNESCO City of Literature organised the Uitgesteld geluk project: 100 new stories by 100 writers told over 100 consecutive day at 100 different paradise-like locations in Fryslân.

The common thread: the quest for beauty during as well as after the pandemic. With this in mind, 100 domestic as well as foreign writers wrote a story especially for Uitgesteld geluk about how they imagine paradise looks like.

During our festival weekend an extra taste of Uitgesteld geluk is offered. On 15 and 16 October four of the project’s stories will be recited once again.

Come and let yourself be surprised by a romantic, exciting, post-apocalyptic or poetic story.

As UNESCO City of Literature both Leeuwarden and Fryslân aim to invest in a professional multilingual literary climate, an international network as well as in making literature as accessible as possible. For more information, please check leeuwardencityofliterature.nl
