CRYSTALLINE PIANO WITH EXPERIMENTAL SYNTHS AND BEATS

Kohlstedt takes you along on a personal voyage of discovery: as if you engage in dialogue with his music. Crystalline piano pieces are accompanied by experimental distorted sounds, synths and here and there a stray, unique beat. He also creates free space within his songs for improvisation, with compositions always differing from the album tracks. For those in the know: think Hauschka and Nils Frahm.

Martin about wandering through inner cities:

“Walking through a city for me feels like being in an unstoppable machine; the mind being afloat in the commotion. There is no time to turn your thoughts to yourself amidst all the things happening around you — that rush is just as an important aspect for my creative process as is the complete opposite.”
