ENDLESS EXPERIMENTATION BY A VERY VERSATILE ARTIST
Experience an audiovisual explosion that bounces you back and forth between India, New Orleans, the Caribbean, jazz and minimalism. Chassol will be playing Explore the North exclusively this year. The Frenchman will be playing two records in their entirety: Indiamore on Friday (partly recorded in India) and Big Sun on Saturday (which was partly recorded on Martinique). This multitalented pianist, composer for film and audiovisual experimentalist began making music at the age of four and luckily has never stopped. After a tip from Diplo, Frank Ocean asked him to play on his last album, Blonde, while Chassol is currently touring with Solange. His albums are accompanied by film footage he produced himself, resulting in what are known as Ultrascores. Chassol uses the sounds of his own movie images as musical input.
