Abstract sound with an endless amount details

If you listen carefully, you can hear a whole range of instruments in Carmen Villain’s music: flute, clarinet, piano, bass drum, yet also synthesizers and other electronics. This Norwegian-Mexican artist is really into instrumental musical experiments, which subsequently tend to result in detailed melodies with a touch of dub. Villain takes you by the hand into a mystic atmosphere, organically enhanced by real sounds of nature. Her latest release Only Love From Now On has been reviewed by Pitchfork as one of this year’s not-to-be-missed albums.
