Adventurous electronica where rhythm and melody meet

Where Chassol took the first few steps towards India at Explore the North last year with his Indiamore, this year Japanese producer Anchorsong will be taking matters even further. His most recent album Cohesion (October 2018) is inspired by traditional Indian percussion and Bollywood soundtracks from the 1970s and ’80s. Using just a sample pad and keyboards, he seeks out the border between rhythm and melody. Although he does often perform solo, the Japanese producer also often works with string quartets to give his electronic music even greater depth. For Explore the North we’re having him team up with Frisian string quartet Risata. This ambitious foursome will provide an extra playful dimension to his psychedelic dance inducing show. With special thanks to Keunstwurk.
