ATMOSPHERIC DEBUT ALBUM

Moses Archuleta, drummer and one of the founders of the band Deerhunter, has a colourful palette of influences to work from as solo artist Moon Diagrams. His debut album, Lifetime of Love, is a mix of field recordings, techno and samples from vinyl albums he picked up in thrift shops. When he performs, all of the various interests and inspirations that influence Moses’ music can be heard: tragic ambient loops and danceable disco beats.

Moses about wandering through inner cities:

Wandering through a city inspires a meditative state for me akin to cooking or playing music. It’s a human process that sparks an equal amount of intuition, creativity, and necessity. My conscious mind simultaneously turns halfway off and my unconscious self awakens and the combination is freeing.

I live in New York City primarily for the ability to wander endlessly on foot and discover new facets of the metropolis and thusly, myself. There’s a rush of vitality I feel from human cities that I’m uncertain I’ll ever tire of, as it always inspires me to know more - more about my surroundings, more about my thoughts, more about others. It keeps me hungry.
