Listening to and viewing very special Leeuwarden city portraits

Listening to and viewing very special Leeuwarden city portraits are things to experience at Explore the North. Iraqi writer and film maker Hassan Blasim, Flemish author Erik Vlaminck, Leeuwarden writer Arjan Hut and LaTasha N. Nevada Diggs, writer, voice and sound artist from New York, all immersed themselves in the city and wrote a story. Sculptors Anne Margot Stapert and Chantal Rens also sought inspiration in Leeuwarden and created special sculptures of the city. The resulting unique city portraits can be seen and heard free of charge from 11 November on at the exhibition at Obe, designed by new media collective WERC. Are you curious about the personal experiences of the artists? On Thursday 22 November, Erik Vlaminck, Arjan Hut, Wiebe Kaspers, LaTasha N. Nevada Diggs, Chantal Rens and Anne Margot Stapert will tell all about their exceptional experiences in Fryslân. This project has been organised in collaboration with Lân fan taal and Leeuwarden-Fryslân 2018 European Capital of Culture.
